DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Moore’s Continuing Education Department is responsible for hosting year-round all-gender community art education programs for youth and adults. For many of our students, Continuing Education programs are the first point of entry to Moore’s community. Our programs include:

Young Artists Workshop (YAW) for all students in grades 3-12
Summer Art & Design Institute (SADI) residential pre-college program for high school students
Summer Artist / Education Residency (SAER) professional development program for worldwide creative educators
Adult Continuing Education (ACE) Interior Design, Digital Design, and Studio Art community classes for adults

This position is an engaging and fun part-time position that builds your resume and sets you up for future opportunities and success. We encourage applicants who are new to teaching and those who have teaching experience.

The qualities we seek in our faculty are:

For Fall/Spring Applicants: availability on Saturdays
For Summer Applicants: availability Monday - Friday
Willingness to obtain PA Child Abuse Report, PA Criminal Background Check, and FBI Check
Punctuality and dependability for class schedules is necessary
Ability to provide excellent and consistent communication
Ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with parents and staff
Demonstrated knowledge of preferred artistic discipline
Creativity and flexibility to cater to learning styles and varying artistic abilities
Organization and problem-solving skills
Interest in managing a classroom of students

Responsibilities:

Create curriculum that includes lesson plans and goals for expected course outcomes
Manage a classroom of 5-20 elementary, middle, or high school students
Approach learning in a flexible way that accommodates multiple learning styles and abilities
Facilitate final classroom exhibition as needed

POSITION SCHEDULES & RATE

Maximum availability is requested during our Academic Year 2026 sessions:

SPRING 2026: February 7, 2026 – April 11, 2026, Saturdays

Each class runs for 10 weeks on Saturdays.

SUMMER 2026: July 13, 2026 – August 14, 2026

Each class runs for one week, Monday - Friday, 9am - 4pm

FALL 2026: September 26, 2026 – December 5, 2026, Saturdays

Each class runs for 10 weeks on Saturdays.
