    Scholarship Application: Summer Art & Design Institute

    Program Information:
    Moore College of Art & Design hosts the Summer Art & Design Institute (SADI), a 3-credit, four-week residential pre-college program in Philadelphia for young women and non-binary students in grades 10–12. 

    Scholarships:
    Limited, competitive scholarships may be available based on financial need, academic merit, and creative talent. Funds are not guaranteed.

    Application Requirements:
    Please prepare the following required materials before proceeding to the application below.

    • Completed SADI 2025 Registration
    • High school transcript
    • Letter of recommendation (teacher, counselor, or mentor)
    • Letter of hardship (prompts below)
    • Personal statement (prompts below)
    • Portfolio: 5–7 artworks in any medium
    • International students must also submit TOEFL scores

    Applicants must submit 5–7 original artworks in any medium that showcase artistic strengths, ideas, concepts, and technical ability. We recommend including 1-3 direct observational drawings.

    Helpful Resources:

    What is Direct Observation? Drawing from real life—people, objects, or spaces around you. Drawings copied from photos, posters, or others' artwork are not considered observational.
